Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Shrestha Ventures (“suds,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the suds customer app, the sudsHQ provider app (including the sudsHQ POS), the ambassador portal, and this website (together, the “Platform”). By using the Platform, you agree to this Policy. It should be read together with our Terms & Conditions.
01Information we collect
- Account & contact details. Your name, mobile phone number and email address, and, for ambassadors, a password.
- Addresses & location. Your street address and ZIP code, the pickup and delivery addresses on an order, and coordinates derived from those addresses. With your permission, the app uses your device location to find nearby providers. During an active pickup or delivery, the provider’s live location is shared with the customer.
- Order information. Order details, scheduling and turnaround preferences, notes (such as detergent allergies, gate codes or pets at home), order history, chat messages, ratings and feedback.
- Order photos. Photos a provider attaches to an order (for example, at pickup or delivery), and photos a customer adds of oversize items. Order photos are deleted 7 days after the order finishes.
- Payment information. Payments are handled by Stripe. We store references that link your account to Stripe; we do not store your full card number or bank-account number.
- Provider information. For providers: business name, store address, logo, pricing, hours, tax settings, payout schedule, and the identity and bank-verification information Stripe Connect needs to pay you.
- Laundry Pro verification. For individual Laundry Pros, also:
- images of your driver’s license and a live selfie, and the result of matching them, processed by our identity-verification partner;
- the proof-of-address document you upload;
- your legal name from your ID, your home address, and your display name and profile photo;
- your device’s location, recorded once when you confirm you’re signing up from home, and the IP address and its approximate location at that time;
- the status and result of your background check. Our screening partner collects your Social Security number and date of birth directly; we do not receive them.
- POS customer data. When a store uses the sudsHQ POS, it may enter a walk-in customer’s name, phone, email and address to create a job and send a receipt. That store controls that information; we store it on the store’s behalf.
- Device & notification data. A push-notification token so we can send order updates, and settings such as alert sounds and quiet hours.
- Referral data. Referral codes you use or share, and the resulting attribution and credits.
- Website contact form. The name, email, optional phone, topic and message you submit, plus a one-way hash of your IP address used to limit spam.
02How we authenticate you
Customers and providers sign in with their mobile phone number and a one-time code sent by SMS. Ambassadors sign in with an email address, a password and a second factor. Phone verification uses Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise to protect against abuse. Some sensitive provider screens ask for a fresh SMS code when more than one device is signed in.
03How we use your information
- To create and secure your account and verify your identity.
- To verify Laundry Pros, including identity, residence and background screening, before and while they serve customers.
- To match orders with nearby providers, route pickups and deliveries, and show order status.
- To authorize, charge, calculate and settle payments, fees, taxes, payouts, referral credits and ambassador commissions.
- To send order updates, receipts, reports and service notifications.
- To provide support, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms, and comply with legal obligations.
04How we share your information
We share information only as needed to operate the Platform. We do not sell your personal information.
- Between customers and providers. The assigned provider receives what’s needed to complete an order, such as the pickup and delivery address and order details. A provider sees only your ZIP code until they accept your order. Customers see a Laundry Pro’s display name, photo (unless hidden), badges, and city, state and ZIP, but never their home address or legal name.
- Service providers we rely on. The vendors that power the Platform, listed below.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information to comply with law, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, property or safety of users and the public.
- Business transfers. Information may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
05Third-party services we use
- Google Firebase (authentication, database, storage and cloud functions): stores account, order and profile data and runs the backend.
- Stripe and Stripe Connect: customer payments, POS card payments, and provider payouts, including identity and bank verification.
- Didit: Laundry Pro identity verification (license scan, selfie and face match).
- Checkr: Laundry Pro background checks.
- Expo push notifications (delivered via Apple and Google push services): order updates to your device.
- Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise: protects phone verification against abuse.
- Google Maps Platform: turns addresses into coordinates and estimates distances.
- Email delivery (SMTP): transactional email such as receipts, reports and notifications, and delivery of messages from this website’s contact form.
- Twilio, only if a store connects its own account: texted POS receipts.
Each processes data under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not use third-party advertising networks or analytics trackers.
06Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform, then for any additional period required for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention and dispute-resolution obligations. Order photos are deleted 7 days after the order finishes. When you delete your account, your personal data is purged within 30 days, except records we must keep, such as past orders and payment and payout records.
07Your choices and rights
- Notifications. Turn off push notifications in your device settings; some service messages may still be sent.
- Location. Disable location permission in your device settings, though this may limit provider search. Laundry Pro sign-up requires a one-time location check.
- Profile photo. Laundry Pros can turn on “Hide while browsing” so customers see initials until they place an order.
- Account deletion. Delete your account in the app (Account → Delete Account).
- Access, correction and deletion. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact privacy@sudshamper.com. We will respond as required by applicable law.
- No sale of data. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
08Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards and rely on established processors such as Google and Stripe. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your device and account credentials protected.
09Children’s privacy
The Platform is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
