Getting started

What is a Laundry Pro?

An independent, ID-verified person who washes, dries and folds laundry at home for customers on suds. You run your own small business as a sole proprietor, using the sudsHQ app.

What do I need to sign up?

A smartphone, a washer and dryer at home, a driver's license, a recent proof of address, and a bank account for Stripe payouts. A car only if you want to offer pickup & delivery. Full requirements.

Why do I have to sign up from home?

Laundry Pros wash at their residence, so we confirm you're there. When you tap "I'm home · Continue" the app records your location once, and it has to match your proof of address.

How does the identity check work?

In sudsHQ you scan the front and back of your driver's license, take a short selfie, and the app matches your face to the license photo. You'll see "Identity verified", "In review" or "We couldn't verify your identity" (with Try Again). Step-by-step.

What counts as proof of address?

A utility bill, bank or credit card statement, lease or mortgage statement, or a letter from a government agency showing your name and home address. Upload a photo or a PDF.

How long does approval take?

A team member reviews your proof of address and profile by hand. sudsHQ shows your checklist while you wait and notifies you when you're approved.

Is there a background check?

Yes, for Laundry Pros. After your first completed order, sudsHQ starts a Checkr background check for $49.99 (one time, non-refundable, paid by card in the app). You can keep working while it runs, and you have 14 days to complete it. Checkr collects your SSN and date of birth on its own secure page. A clear result adds a "Background Checked" badge to your profile.

Money

How much can I charge?

You decide. Charge per load, per pound or both, with optional minimums, a priority fee for rush jobs, oversize-item surcharges and your own add-on services.

Does suds take a cut of my price?

No. The rate you set is exactly what you're paid. The platform commission is added to the customer's total on top of your price. Special services, tips and the pickup & delivery fee also go to you.

When do I get paid?

Standard payouts are free: orders completed on the 1st–14th pay on the 1st of the next month, and the 15th to month-end pay on the 15th of the next month. Daily payouts of settled funds cost $0.99 per transfer.

Do tips go to me?

Yes. Tips are paid to you separately with no commission, less card processing only.

What about taxes?

As a sole proprietor, you're responsible for your own income taxes. Charging sales tax is your choice; if you do, you remit it to your state.

Using sudsHQ

What's a broadcast order?

An order the customer sent to every eligible provider nearby instead of one chosen pro. It shows as "Live Broadcast" on Dispatch. The first to tap Secure Order gets it. Learn more.

How do I take a break?

Turn off the Services switch on the Account tab. You stop getting broadcast requests and disappear from search, and orders you already have stay put. How.

What does "Stay On" do?

It keeps the Dispatch screen from dimming so you can leave your phone or tablet on the counter as an order screen. Tap the sun icon; it shows "Awake" when it's on. More.

Can I hide my photo?

Yes. Turn on "Hide while browsing" next to Change photo on the Account tab. Customers see your initials until they place an order with you. Your home address is never shown either way.

How do I change my prices?

Account → Edit HQ → Services & Pricing, then tap Sync HQ Records. Step-by-step.

The bag was heavier than the customer said.

Tap Adjust Price, enter the actual weight or load count, and Confirm & Update Price. The customer approves before you tap Start Laundry.

Why was I asked to "Verify It's You"?

When more than one phone is signed in to your account, sensitive screens (Edit HQ, payouts, deposits, devices) ask for an SMS code, so nobody else can change your bank or prices.

Your washer can pay you.
