sudsHQ guide

Run your laundry business from sudsHQ.

From your first sign-in to your first payout. Each lesson is tagged Laundry Pro, Laundromat or both, so you can skip what doesn't apply to you.

sudsHQ has five tabs along the bottom: Dispatch (new orders), Operations (orders in progress), Promos, POS and Account.

1. Sign in

Laundry ProLaundromat

sudsHQ has no password. You sign in with your phone number and a code sent by text.

  1. Open sudsHQ. The first time, swipe through the welcome slides or tap Skip.
  2. Enter your Phone Number and your Store ID or Zip Code (up to 5 digits: your store's zip, or your own store number).
  3. Tick I agree to the Terms & Conditions and tap Send Verification SMS.
  4. Type the code and tap Verify SMS Code. Typed the wrong number? Tap Wrong number or store ID? Start over.

Your account is your phone number + zip/store ID. The same phone with a different zip creates a separate store. That's how multi-location owners add stores (see Switch store).

2. Choose Laundry Pro or Laundromat

Laundry ProLaundromat

On Partner Setup · How will you provide laundry service? pick one:

Laundromat

A business with its own location, washers and dryers. Customers drop off at your store, or you pick up and deliver. A 10-step wizard covers hours, pricing and payouts. See the steps.

Laundry Pro

Wash, dry and fold from home as a sole proprietor. You verify your identity, customers see your display name and photo (never your home address), and you go live once our team approves you.

Either way, you set your own prices and get paid directly to your bank through Stripe.

3. Verify your identity

Laundry Pro

Laundry Pros prove who they are before any customer sees them. The check is run by our identity partner inside the app and takes a few minutes.

  1. On Before you start, tap each of the five items to acknowledge them, then I Agree & Continue.
  2. On Sign up from your residence, if you're at home tap I'm home · Continue. The app records your location once. Not home? Tap Do it later and come back with I'm home · Resume.
  3. On Verify your identity, tap Start Verification. Scan the front and back of your driver's license, take a short selfie, and the app matches your face to the license photo.
  4. Back in sudsHQ, tap Check Status. You'll see Identity verified, In review, or We couldn't verify your identity. In that last case, tap Try Again.

Tips for a first-time pass

Use good light and a dark, plain background. Take the license out of its sleeve. Hold the phone at eye level for the selfie and take off hats and sunglasses.

Your legal name comes from your ID and can't be edited. Customers see your display name instead.

4. Proof of address, profile & approval

Laundry Pro
  1. Proof of address: upload a utility bill, bank or credit card statement, lease or mortgage statement, or a letter from a government agency. Use Take photo, Photo library or PDF, then Upload Document.
  2. Review your profile: check your name from the ID, verify your email with a code (Gmail, Outlook/Hotmail or Yahoo), and confirm your home address. Tap Confirm My Details.
  3. How customers see you: choose a Display name (up to 40 characters) and a one-line About you. The preview shows your Laundry Pro and ID Verified badges. Tap Save & Set Up My Service.
  4. Set up your service: hours, prices, pickup, tax and payouts (lessons 5–7). The last button reads Submit for Approval.
  5. You'll land on You're in the queue. A team member reviews your proof of address and profile. When you see You're approved! and your payout account is active, tap Enter Command Center.

Rejections are usually because the proof of address didn't match where you signed up. Use a recent document with your name and the same address.

5. Connect payouts (Stripe)

Laundry ProLaundromat

A connected payout account is required before you can go live.

  1. On the Bank Details step, tap Set Up Payouts (or Connect Your Bank). Stripe opens and asks for your details and bank account.
  2. Finish in Stripe and come back. If you left part-way, tap Continue Setup or Finish Payout Setup.
  3. Status moves from Stripe Is Verifying to Payouts Connected.
  4. Choose a Payout Schedule: Standard (free, paid on the 1st & 15th) or Daily ($0.99 per transfer, settled funds). Change it later under Edit HQ → Payout Schedule.

6. Update your prices

Laundry ProLaundromat

You can change prices anytime. New orders use the new price.

  1. Go to Account and tap Edit HQ.
  2. Under Services & Pricing, choose How do you charge for laundry?: Per Load, Per lb or Both. Enter Price / Load ($) and/or Price / lb ($).
  3. Optional order minimums: Minimum Loads, Minimum Weight (lb), Minimum Order Total ($). Leave them blank to accept any size.
  4. Turnaround: set Regular Turnaround (days). To offer rush service, set Priority in whole days or same day (hours) and turn on Charge Priority Fee.
  5. Oversize items like comforters and duvets are washed as their own load, plus a per-item surcharge that goes to you.
  6. Also here: Monthly Service price, Charge Sales Tax, Pickup & Dropoff, and Dry Cleaning prices per garment.
  7. Tap Sync HQ Records to save.

Asked for an SMS code? When more than one phone is signed in to your store, Edit HQ, payouts, deposits and devices ask you to Verify It's You first. That stops a shared counter tablet from changing your bank or prices.

The pickup & delivery fee is a flat platform fee, currently $9.99. It isn't set by you, but it's paid to you.

7. Special services (add-ons)

Laundry ProLaundromat
  1. In Edit HQ, open Special service pricing.
  2. Switch on the built-ins you offer: Oxi Boost, Dryer Sheets, Fabric Softener, Vinegar Rinse, Scent Beads, Hanger Service. Set a price per load.
  3. Offer something else? Add another service with a name and short description. You can offer up to 15.
  4. Tap Save special services.

Add-on money comes to you with no commission. Prices over $10 per load are reviewed by our team before customers see them.

8. Services on/off: pause and resume orders

Laundry ProLaundromat

This is your "open / closed" sign. Use it for a day off, a full machine, or a vacation.

  1. Go to Account and find the Services & Pricing card.
  2. Flip the Services switch. Active means you're live. Off pauses broadcast requests and hides you from customer search.
  3. While off, Dispatch shows "Services paused. You won't receive broadcast requests — re-enable in Account to go live."

Orders you already accepted stay in Operations and you can finish them as normal.

Just too busy today? Instead of switching off, lower Concurrent Order Slots (Edit HQ → Logistics Capacity) so you only get as much as you can handle.

9. Stay On: keep the screen awake

Laundry ProLaundromat

Leaving a phone or tablet on the counter as an order screen? Stay On stops it from dimming so new orders stay visible.

  1. Open Dispatch.
  2. Tap the Stay On button (the sun icon) in the header. It turns pink and reads Awake.
  3. Tap again to turn it off when you're done.

The POS has its own Stay on sun button for the till. It's off by default because it uses battery, and it keeps the screen from dimming but doesn't stop the phone from locking.

Keep the device plugged in when Stay On is on, and keep sudsHQ running in the background so push alerts can reach you.

10. Order alerts, quiet hours & devices

Laundry ProLaundromat
  • Order Alerts: turn on Play sound for incoming orders and choose a tone.
  • Quiet Hours: silences the alert sound overnight. Orders still arrive; you just won't hear them.
  • Alert Devices: lists every phone signed in to your store that will ring.
  • Notifications: the last 7 days of alerts, if you missed one.

11. Broadcast & direct orders

Laundry ProLaundromat

New orders arrive on Dispatch. There are two kinds:

  • Live Broadcast: sent to every eligible provider nearby. First to claim wins.
  • Direct order: the customer chose you. Nobody else sees it.
  1. Read the card: service, loads or weight, pickup or drop-off, times, and your Net Payout. You see only the customer's zip until you accept.
  2. Broadcast: tap Secure Order. If someone beat you to it you'll see Already Taken. That's normal; the next one's yours.
  3. Direct: tap Accept Order.
  4. Outside your own delivery radius? You'll be asked to confirm with Accept Anyway.

Win more broadcasts: keep sound alerts on, use Stay On during busy hours, and set realistic minimums so you only see orders you want. Only providers who meet the order's requirements see a broadcast at all.

12. Working an order, button by button

Laundry ProLaundromat

Accepted orders live in Operations. Filter by Today, Tomorrow, 10 Days, Coming Up, Overdue or Completed, and switch between Pickup/Delivery and Dropoff. Each card shows the next button to tap:

StagePickup & deliveryDrop-off
ConfirmedStart Pickup (shares your live location)Mark Laundry Dropped
On the wayMark At Pickup—
Have the laundryAdjust Price if needed, then Start LaundryStart Laundry
WashingStart Delivery (shares your live location)Mark Picked Up when the customer collects
On the way backMark Delivered—

The customer's card is charged when you tap Start Laundry. Always settle the price (next lesson) before you start.

Each order also has a customer chat, private notes, and a QR code you can scan in Operations to pull the order up. Cancelling is possible, but cancellations are tracked and may affect your performance rating.

13. Weigh & Adjust Price

Laundry ProLaundromat

Customers book on an estimate. If the bag is bigger or smaller, fix it before washing.

  1. On the order, tap Adjust Price.
  2. Enter Actual Weight (lbs) or Actual Load Count (or dry-clean item prices). Add an optional Note to customer, such as "2 comforters added".
  3. Tap Confirm & Update Price. The order shows Awaiting Approval.
  4. The customer approves, or rejects and cancels. No answer? Tap Resend (up to 3 times), then call, text or cancel.
  5. Once approved, tap Start Laundry.

Orders max out at $999. Split bigger jobs into more than one order.

14. Photos & problem orders

Laundry ProLaundromat

Add photos to any order, tagged Pickup, Delivery, Unsanitary or Other (up to 20). The customer sees them in their order, and they're deleted 7 days after the order finishes.

  • Unsanitary · cancel order: for vomit, heavy urine, mold, bugs and similar hazards. Photograph it first. The order is cancelled, the laundry is returned unwashed, and a $19.99 fee is paid to you.
  • Charge missed pickup: the customer wasn't there. Photograph the door or location. The $9.99 fee is paid to you.

15. Hide while browsing (your photo)

Laundry Pro

Prefer a little privacy? Customers browsing providers can see your initials instead of your photo. They see your photo once they've placed an order with you.

  1. Go to Account. Your business tile is at the top.
  2. Next to Change photo, turn on Hide while browsing.

To change your photo, tap Change photo and take a new selfie. It has to match your verified ID, so you'll see "Checking selfie…" for a moment.

Laundromats don't have a personal photo. Tap your tile icon and choose Choose new logo or Remove logo. Customers see your logo on your store's card.

Your home address is never shown. Customers only see your city, state and zip.

16. Switch store

LaundromatMulti-location
  1. To add a location, sign out (Exit Command Center) and sign in again with the same phone and the new store's zip or store ID. Set it up like a new store.
  2. From then on, go to Account and tap Switch (next to Edit HQ).
  3. The Switch Store sheet lists every store on your number with its name and zip. Tap one.

Push alerts on this phone move to the store you switch to. If you see "No other stores on this number", you only have one so far.

17. Offer monthly service

Laundry ProLaundromat
  1. In Edit HQ → Services & Pricing, set a Monthly Price. It covers a weekly pickup and drop-off with no delivery fee, up to a set number of loads per pickup.
  2. When a customer asks, a Monthly Service request appears in Dispatch. Tap Accept Monthly. Nothing is scheduled or charged until you accept.
  3. Each week's pickup appears in Operations like a normal order. You're paid per pickup as each week is released.

18. Background check

Laundry Pro
  1. After your first completed order, go to Account → Background Check.
  2. Pay the one-time $49.99 fee by card (non-refundable).
  3. Checkr, not sudsHQ, asks for your Social Security number and date of birth on its own secure page.
  4. Keep taking orders while it runs. Most checks come back within a few days. A clear result adds a Background Checked badge to your card.

You have 14 days. After that, the Account row shows "Overdue — listing paused" until it's done.

19. Deposits, payouts & tips

Laundry ProLaundromat
  • Account → Deposits shows your payouts and a month-to-date summary of POS and online sales.
  • Standard payouts: orders completed on the 1st–14th pay on the 1st of the next month; the 15th to month-end pay on the 15th of the next month. Free.
  • Daily payouts: settled funds every day, $0.99 per transfer.
  • Tips are paid to you separately, less card processing only, with no commission.

20. Promos: advertise locally

Laundry ProLaundromat
  1. Open the Promos tab and tap New Campaign.
  2. Add a Title, Promo Copy, an Offer Code and the Discount.
  3. Save a card and tap Activate & Launch. You're billed per impression.
  4. Tap Deactivate Campaign to stop anytime.

21. Referrals & ambassadors

Laundry ProLaundromat
  • Were you referred? The first time you open Dispatch you'll see "Welcome aboard · Did anyone refer you?" Enter their Referral Code and tap Submit Code, or tap No one referred me.
  • Refer other pros and stores. The Ambassador card on your Account tab explains how: refer a laundromat or Laundry Pro and earn a share of the platform commission on their orders, paid via Stripe on the 1st and 15th.

22. Support & closing your account

Laundry ProLaundromat
  • Partner Support Chat on the Account tab goes straight to our team.
  • Prefer email? contact@sudshamper.com or the contact form.
  • Leaving: Laundry Pros tap Close Account; laundromats tap Purge HQ Record. You can't close with open orders, unpaid items, a live monthly plan or unpaid POS fees, so finish those first.
