How laundry pickup and delivery works, step by step
The short version: you book in the app, a local laundromat or Laundry Pro accepts and collects your bag, they wash, dry and fold it, and they bring it back. On suds your card is held at booking but charged only when the wash begins. If the bag weighs more than you estimated, you approve the new price first.
1. Book
In the suds app, tap Start New Request. Pick Regular Wash or Dry Clean, estimate how many loads you have, and choose pickup & delivery or drop-off. Then pick a pickup window and when you need it back.
2. Choose who does it
You have two ways to send an order:
- Broadcast sends it to every eligible provider nearby. You decide whether laundromats, Laundry Pros or both can see it. The first to confirm gets the job, which usually means the fastest pickup.
- Direct sends it to one provider you pick from Nearby, Favorites or Last Used. Direct orders can use coupon codes.
Every provider sets their own prices. Because nobody knows yet who will accept a broadcast, checkout shows a Maximum You May Be Charged, based on the highest-priced provider in range. You pay that or less.
3. Authorize, but don't pay yet
You review an itemised total and tap Authorize. Your card is held, not charged, and you can cancel for free before the wash starts.
4. Pickup
You get a notification when a provider confirms, and you can watch them on the live map as they head over. For a drop-off order, you bring the laundry to them instead.
5. Weighing, and price changes you approve
If the bag is heavier or has more loads than you estimated, the provider weighs it and sends a Price Adjustment. Nothing changes until you approve it. If you reject it, the order is cancelled.
6. Wash, dry, fold
Your card is charged when the provider taps Start Laundry, not before.
7. Delivery, rating and tips
Track the delivery on the map, or collect your laundry if it's a drop-off order. Afterwards, rate the provider from 1 to 5 stars and add a tip if you like. Tips go to the provider.
